A.I. Music Creation
How to Create Music with Udio and Google AI Studio
Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing music creation, and one of the most powerful platforms available today is Udio. With it, you can generate songs, instrumentals, and complete soundscapes just by describing what you want. When combined with Google AI Studio’s Tutor (using screen sharing and voice interaction), the process becomes an interactive lesson where you learn by doing, asking questions, and getting real-time guidance.
1. Finding Udio
To get started, simply open your browser and type “Udio AI music” into Google. Click on the official link: udio.com.
Once inside, create a free account. You’ll see a clean interface with options like Create, Library, Styles, and more.
2. Connecting with Google AI Studio
-
Open Google AI Studio in a separate tab.
-
Start a session with the Tutor.
-
Share your screen so the Tutor can see Udio’s interface.
-
Ask questions aloud, for example:
-
“How do I make a song in electronic style?”
-
“What happens if I choose Instrumental instead of Auto-Generate lyrics?”
-
“How can I extend my track from 30 seconds to 3 minutes?”
-
The Tutor will explain, guide you to the correct buttons, and even suggest prompts or lyric ideas.
3. Udio’s Interface Explained
Looking at the Create tab (the main workspace), you’ll find:
-
Describe Your Song: Write a description of the track you want. Example: “A fast-paced techno beat with retro arcade vibes, inspired by video games.”
-
Upload Audio: Import your own clip as a base for AI to build on.
-
Write Your Lyrics:
-
Auto-Generate: Let Udio create lyrics.
-
Custom: Write your own lyrics.
-
Instrumental: No vocals, only music.
-
-
Add to Folder: Organize your songs into projects.
-
Advanced Controls: Adjust tempo, key, or instrumentation for more precision.
-
Create Button: At the bottom, click this to generate your music.
On the right-hand side you’ll see My Library, where all your created tracks are stored. Each song shows the style, length, and play count.
4. Creating Your First Track
-
In the Describe Your Song box, type something simple like:
“An emotional piano ballad with strings, cinematic and inspiring.” -
Choose Auto-Generate lyrics or Instrumental if you prefer no vocals.
-
Click Create.
-
In less than a minute, Udio generates your song. Play it back and review.
-
If you like it, save it to a folder (for example, “Album Drafts”).
-
If you want changes, adjust the description or choose another style, then regenerate.
5. Extending and Editing Tracks
Every generated track is around 30 seconds by default. You can:
-
Extend: Add more time until you have a full-length song.
-
Remix: Change the style or instrumentation while keeping the same melody.
-
Layer: Combine multiple generated clips in your own editing software.
This makes it possible to create not just loops, but complete songs.
6. Using Google AI Studio as Your Tutor
Here’s how the Tutor makes the experience even more powerful:
-
Ask for creative prompts:
“Suggest 10 descriptions for a fantasy soundtrack with medieval instruments.” -
Get technical help:
“Explain the difference between Auto-Generate and Custom lyrics.” -
Seek inspiration:
“Give me five lyric themes for an electronic dance song.” -
Solve problems:
“Why does my track sound too short? How do I extend it properly?”
With screen sharing enabled, the Tutor can literally point out what button to click, making the learning process faster and smoother.

-
Experiment with styles: Try mixing unexpected elements like “orchestral hip hop” or “country with electronic beats.”
-
Iterate: Don’t stop at one version—generate multiple takes and compare.
-
Use AI Studio: Ask your Tutor to refine lyrics, create rhymes, or suggest chord progressions.
9. Exporting and Sharing
When you are happy with your song:

Save it in My Library.
