The Lament of Lobo

The sky above Nekros-Seven wept rusted blood.

Molten iron droplets fell like rain upon the shattered remains of Echo-9 Squad, evaporating against the corroded plating that once formed the backbone of a vast industrial complex. Now, it was a mausoleum open to the void—silent, merciless. The towers, long since melted by orbital fire, leaned like dying titans, and the ashes of the dead drifted through the toxic air like sacred dust.

Beneath a fractured dome, where shadows clung to every surface like hungry ghosts, a lone figure was motionless.

Lobo.

He wore a long, battle-torn coat of heavy material, the dark green now scorched and blackened by fire. His chestplate was dented, smeared with ash and oil, and fastened with brass buttons dulled by time. His helmet was old, rounded and iron-black, marked with a faded insignia. From beneath it, a gas mask with multiple hoses coiled like serpents around his neck, hissing with each breath. The lenses of the mask glowed faintly—cold, impersonal.

He held a battered rifle close to his chest, fingers steady despite the searing heat. Flames licked the air around him, yet he stood firm—like a statue carved from war and will.

He was surrounded by the fallen—his squad, his brothers. Each of them had died screaming into the void, cut down by the Omega’s purifiers, their bodies broken but defiant. One clutched a crude flag—half-burned, bloodstained—the symbol of the Alpha Resistance still visible beneath layers of ash. Another had died kneeling, shielding a child who hadn’t survived the blastwave.

Lobo knelt beside them.

He did not cry. The augments had burned his tear ducts out long ago. But sorrow still lived within him, a primal thing buried deep in the marrow of his being. In that moment, it wasn’t rage he felt. It wasn’t vengeance.

It was silence. Heavy. Crushing. Absolute.

Across the dead city, the wind moaned through the ruins like a chorus of ghosts. A lullaby for the broken.

He placed a trembling hand on the chest of his lieutenant, Kara Vesh, whose mask had been shattered in her final charge. Her eyes—frozen wide in defiance—still stared into the sky. Lobo closed them gently, fingers shaking.

"Rest now," he whispered through static, voice gravelled and low. "You gave them hell."

A crackle echoed in his comms—faint, glitching. Then, a voice.

"—Confirmed signal. Repeat: Elias Vail is alive. Trapped in Quadrant-17. Surrounded. Requesting evac."

Lobo froze.

Elias Vail. The boy. The symbol. The last spark of the name that once lit fires across the Resistance. Blood of Enoch, the flame-bearer.

Lobo rose, the servos in his legs whining under the weight of his war-suit and his sorrow. One last mission. One more scar.

He stared into the roiling crimson horizon, where lightning crackled across the dying skies of Nekros-Seven.

"This isn’t over," he growled.

And the wolf began to walk.

Echoes Beneath the Iron Sky

The descent into Sector 17 was like diving into the throat of a dead god.

Nekros-Seven had once been a forge world, its surface veined with rivers of molten alloy and endless fields of smoke-belching refineries. Now, those rivers were frozen into jagged, rust-red canyons, and the refineries lay gutted, their chimneys like tombstones reaching for a sun that no longer gave light.

Lobo moved through the debris field in silence, his boots crunching over broken glass, fragmented bone, and bullet-riddled plasteel. His squad had been gone for less than a day, and already the world felt emptier without them. But there was no time to mourn—not truly.

The boy was alive.

The comms were choked with static now, barely usable. He relied on the old ways—coordinates etched into memory, instinct honed by decades of killing and surviving in places where hope went to die.

He passed the husk of an Omega crawler tank, its hull split open like a gutted beast. A symbol had been smeared in blood across its armor: a wolf’s fang, stylized and crude.

Resistance graffiti. Elias. He was here.

Lobo pressed forward, deeper into the industrial catacombs.

The interior of the hab-block ruins was a choking maze—low corridors illuminated only by the faint flicker of emergency lumen-strips and the soft bioluminescent pulse of fungal growths that fed on chemical runoff. He passed walls scorched black from plasma fire, doors torn from hinges by augmented strength.

Signs of a fight. Recent.

Then he saw it.

Three Omega bodies piled in a corner, their skull-faced helmets cracked and caved in, their armor dented by primitive weapons—pipes, scrap-blades, fire. Someone had fought them, and someone had won.

Lobo knelt, placing his hand on one of the Omega visors. Blood had seeped in behind the lenses.

"No tactical retreat," he muttered. "They were outmatched."

A smile ghosted his lips behind the mask. Small. Grim.

"The boy fights like his brother."

He moved on, descending into the maintenance levels—an endless warren of ducts and tunnels where even the Omegas didn’t patrol. The walls sweated moisture and rot, the floor sticky with biological waste and machine oil. Every sound was magnified here—his breath, his steps, the faint scrape of something moving up ahead.

Then he heard it.

A cough.

Ragged. Human.

Lobo's hand dropped to his weapon—a relic plasma axe forged from the bones of an old war priest and wired to his neural network. The blue glow along its blade ignited, humming like a vengeful spirit.

He rounded the corner.

And there he was.

Elias Vail.

No more than seventeen cycles. Face gaunt, eyes sunken, body wrapped in layers of salvaged armor and cloth. He held a sharpened Omega tibia like a spear. His gas mask was cracked, but still functional. His eyes burned with defiance.

When he saw Lobo, he didn’t lower the bone-spear.

"You with them?" Elias rasped. "You move like Omega."

Lobo said nothing at first. He let the silence linger, heavy as the world above them.

Then, he pulled off his helmet.

The boy flinched—not at his face, but at the scars, the metallic threads laced through Lobo’s skin like old wires. His eyes—one human, one cybernetic—glowed in the dim light.

"I'm with the dead," Lobo said. "And I'm here to make sure you don’t join them."

Elias stared, still poised to strike.

"You're him," he said slowly. "The one from the stories. The butcher with the wolf’s face. The broken Omega."

Lobo inclined his head. "Call me Lobo."

"And you're here to save me?"

"No," Lobo said, voice low. "I’m here to bring you back. If you're worth saving... that's still to be seen."

From somewhere above, a metallic shriek echoed through the ductwork.

The Omegas were coming.

And the hunt had begun.

The Broken Bloodline

The moment the shriek echoed through the ductwork, Lobo's instincts took over.

He grabbed Elias by the collar and yanked him into motion, forcing the boy to keep low as they slipped into a side corridor barely wide enough for two. The pipes lining the ceiling hissed with the slow venting of ancient pressure valves. The walls sweated decay.

Behind them, the sound of approaching boots—Omega boots—marched with inhuman rhythm. Not rushing. Not running.

Hunting.

They always walked like they had all the time in the world.

Lobo led them into the bowels of the sector, where the architecture twisted into something between tomb and factory. The place had been a processing center once, built to sort ore and human labor. The Omega had repurposed it—of course they had. Where once there had been machines to refine metal, now there were crucibles for the flesh.

They passed vats filled with failed augmentations—bodies half-merged with steel, their mouths still open in a scream that had never ended. Their shadows loomed across the walls like distorted saints of a dead religion.

Elias didn’t speak. He didn’t flinch either.

Lobo noticed.

“You’ve seen worse,” he muttered, guiding him into a decontamination shaft sealed by a manual cranklock.

Elias gave a dry, bitter laugh. “I was raised in a sewer beneath a slaughter factory. By scavvers and ghosts. You get used to the screaming.”

Lobo stared at him for a moment.

There it is, he thought.
The Vail blood.

Inside the chamber, they paused. For breath. For silence. For what came next.

Elias sat against a rusted pipe, gripping the bone-spear in hands that trembled only slightly.

“You knew my brother, didn’t you?” he asked.

Lobo didn’t answer right away.

Instead, he took a thin metal disk from a pouch on his belt. It flickered to life—projecting a holo-image no larger than a fist.

Enoch Vail.

Standing tall in Alpha armor, visor cracked, one hand resting on the shoulder of a younger, terrified soldier. Lobo had taken this before the Siege of Cinderhold. Before the sacrifice. Before Enoch lit himself on fire to stop an Omega dread-engine.

“He believed you were more than blood,” Lobo said at last. “He died to give this war a heartbeat. So it wouldn’t just be numbers and attrition. He believed we could still mean something.”

Elias looked away, eyes stinging.

“I’m not him.”

“I know,” Lobo replied. “He died. You haven’t. That’s the difference.”

Suddenly, the sound of tearing steel and collapsing conduits shook the chamber. From the far wall, Omega breach claws burst through—massive mechanical talons that tore apart the reinforced walls like paper. From the darkness beyond, red eyes flickered. Emotionless. Cold.

Purge Order: Engage.

They emerged: three Omega Eliminators, silent and swift, their armor gleaming wet with machine oil. No guns. Only blades—because this was personal.

Lobo shoved Elias behind a bulkhead and drew the plasma axe, its blade screaming to life. Sparks danced across the floor as he stepped forward.

Elias shouted, “You can’t take three!”

Lobo didn’t answer.

He just charged.

Guide for Assembling and Painting Inspirational Figures

Disclaimer

Please note that the process of assembling and painting your inspirational figures involves the use of tools, adhesives, and paints that may pose certain risks if not handled properly. By following this guide, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety during the assembly and customization of your figures. The manufacturer and seller assume no liability for injuries or damages that may occur due to improper handling of sharp instruments, adhesives, paints, or any other tools used in the process. It is highly recommended that you follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as needed.

Assembling Your Figure
- Set up a clean, well-lit workspace. Lay out all the parts and organize them based on their assembly sequence. This helps avoid confusion and ensures an efficient assembly process.

- Before applying adhesive, practice fitting the pieces together to understand how they align. This step is crucial for preventing misalignment and ensuring a proper fit. Take your time to familiarize yourself with each part's position.

- Use a high-quality superglue suitable for resin models. Apply a small amount to the joining surfaces, press the pieces together, and hold until the glue sets. Always work in a well-ventilated area and avoid direct contact with adhesives. If accidental skin contact occurs, follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety instructions.

- For parts that need extra time to bond, you can use clamps or tape to hold them in place while the adhesive dries. Ensure that the clamping pressure is even to prevent any damage to the model.

Safety Tips for Assembly

- The assembly process may involve the use of sharp tools such as hobby knives or cutters to remove excess resin or mold lines. Always cut away from your body and use a cutting mat to protect surfaces. Wear protective gloves to minimize the risk of injury.

-Superglue can bond skin instantly. Use caution when applying adhesives, and consider wearing disposable gloves. In case of accidental bonding, follow the manufacturer's recommended procedure for safely separating bonded skin.

- Keep your workspace free of clutter to avoid accidents. Ensure that all tools are properly stored when not in use, especially sharp instruments.

Painting Your Figure

- Apply a primer to ensure the paint adheres properly to the resin surface. Use a spray primer made specifically for plastic or resin, and apply in thin, even coats. Priming is essential for achieving a smooth and durable paint finish.

- Once primed, start with your base colors. Acrylic paints are recommended due to their ease of use and quick drying times. Apply paint in thin layers to preserve the intricate details of the model.

- Use smaller brushes for detailed areas, adding depth and dimension to your figure. Techniques such as dry brushing or applying washes can help highlight textures and bring out the finer details.

- Once the paint is completely dry, apply a clear sealer to protect your work. You can choose between matte or gloss varnish, depending on the desired finish. Sealing helps protect the paint from chipping and enhances the longevity of your customized figure.

Additional Tips

- Especially if you're new to assembling and painting models, patience is key. Rushing can lead to mistakes that may be difficult to correct.

- If you're unsure about colors or painting techniques, practice on a spare part or an inconspicuous area of the figure. This will help build your confidence before applying paint to visible areas.

- There are numerous online tutorials, forums, and communities dedicated to model assembly and painting. These can be invaluable for learning new techniques and finding inspiration for your projects.

Recommended Paints

We believe that, among all paints specially designed for wargame models, the best in terms of quality and price are from The Army Painter, which is why we recommend them. Here, you can find all their paint sets:

Legal Disclaimer

By using this guide and assembling or painting your figure, you acknowledge and agree that you are undertaking these activities at your own risk. The manufacturer and seller are not liable for any injuries, damages, or accidents that occur during the assembly, customization, or painting process. This includes, but is not limited to, injuries caused by sharp tools, inhalation of fumes, skin contact with adhesives or paints, or any other hazards associated with these activities.

We strongly encourage all users to take the necessary safety precautions, including wearing protective gloves, masks, and eyewear, and to work in a well-ventilated area. Your safety is your responsibility, and by proceeding, you accept full liability for any risks involved.
